The Ministry of Roads and Highways has announced advancements in the investigation concerning the footbridge that was damaged between Fiesta Royale and Nogahill Hotel on the N1 highway.
Minister Kwame Agbodza, in a statement made on February 8, remarked:
“We have made significant progress. The police are coordinating with the vehicle’s owners, the Ministry of Roads and Highways, and other pertinent entities to further the investigation, evaluate the extent of the damage, and recommend the necessary repairs.”
“I am grateful for the contributions of the Minister responsible for the Interior, the Inspector General of Police, law enforcement, and the public who have provided crucial information,” he added.
This statement follows an earlier announcement on February 6, where the Roads Minister called upon the owner of the vehicle involved to collaborate with the authorities:
“The beneficial owner of the vehicle that inflicted this considerable damage to the footbridge between Fiesta Royale and Nogahill Hotel on the N1 highway must promptly report to the police, assist in the investigation, and accept responsibility for the repairs.”
Kwame Agbodza emphasized that prompt action and accountability are crucial for restoring public infrastructure and preventing further inconveniences to road users along the heavily trafficked N1 highway.
