President John Dramani Mahama has reiterated Ghana’s dedication to democratic governance, transparency, and regional security.
He made this statement during his keynote address at the inauguration of the 2026 Ghana-European Union (EU) Partnership Dialogue.
The President characterized the Ghana-EU relationship as a strategic alliance based on shared democratic principles, mutual respect, and a joint commitment to peace, prosperity, and sustainable development.
He emphasized the importance of advancing the partnership beyond conventional development aid to one that is propelled by trade, investment, innovation, industrialization, and shared prosperity.
President Mahama underscored Ghana’s ongoing economic recovery and detailed key government initiatives, such as the 24-Hour Economy Initiative and the Accelerated Export Development Programme, which are designed to enhance productivity, value addition, and job creation.
Additionally, he urged for increased European investment and collaboration in sectors such as manufacturing, agro-processing, critical minerals, digital transformation, renewable energy, and climate resilience.
