The Parliamentary Select Committee on Health has provided assurance to the management of the Eastern Regional Hospital that the halted construction of the new regional facility along the Akwadum stretch will be finalized during President John Dramani Mahama’s tenure.
This project, which was launched by the Akufo-Addo administration in July 2020, was anticipated to be completed within a span of thirty-six months but has encountered delays.
During a media briefing, committee member and Member of Parliament for Garu, Thomas Anaba, emphasized the President’s dedication to the hospital’s completion.
‘We are currently reviewing all Agenda 111 projects, including this one. I believe it is part of that initiative.
We will also propose recommendations as we identify issues related to space, necessitating a modern facility to accommodate the new services they aim to implement.
‘Mahama is committed to completing all ongoing Agenda 111 projects, and this will certainly be included, as the Eastern Region is an integral part of Ghana.’
