President John Dramani Mahama has declared that the No Fee Stress Initiative has already provided assistance to more than 152,000 first-year students enrolled in public tertiary institutions.
He further stated that the total number of beneficiaries is anticipated to increase to 220,000 this year.
During the State of the Nation Address in Parliament on Friday, February 27, President Mahama discussed the programme’s expansion and also conveyed positive news for law students.
In partnership with the Students’ Loans Trust Fund, Ghanaian law students will now have the opportunity to access student loans to aid in their legal education.
This initiative is part of the government’s comprehensive efforts to alleviate financial pressures on students and enhance access to higher education throughout the nation.
“As I address you, the ‘No Fee Stress’ Initiative has already benefited over 152,000 first-year students in public tertiary universities. This year, the number of beneficiaries is expected to reach 220,000 first-year students.”
“In partnership with the Students’ Loans Trust Fund, I bring good news for law students. Law students in Ghana will now have the ability to access student loan schemes to further their legal education.”
