President John Dramani Mahama has expressed that he is not disturbed by the criticisms aimed at his administration, asserting that public feedback is instrumental in enhancing his leadership and facilitating improved decision-making in the governance of the nation.
The President articulated his openness to differing opinions and public examination, including remarks that challenge the trajectory of his government. He explained that such critiques offer him a chance to contemplate his actions and pinpoint areas needing enhancement.
During an interaction with members of the Ghanaian community in Moscow, Russia, Mahama emphasized that he does not perceive criticism as a personal affront but rather as a vital component of democratic governance.
He affirmed that his foremost duty is to serve the country to the best of his ability and that he remains receptive to suggestions and concerns from citizens who may have differing views on some of his decisions or policies.
“I am not bothered if individuals assert that I am steering the country in the wrong direction because I am striving to do my utmost. Criticism aids me in improving. Therefore, when people critique me and indicate that something is amiss, I do not take offense.”
He also specifically referenced commentary on social media, reassuring Ghanaians that he is cognizant of the discussions and criticisms regarding his presidency, including videos and posts circulated on platforms like TikTok.
Mahama conveyed that he actively engages with such online dialogues and is not unaware of the sentiments being voiced by citizens concerning his administration.
“So all your TikToks and similar content, do not assume that I am oblivious to them. I am aware.”
