The Chief Executive Officer of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) Osei Asibey Antwi, is appearing before the Ashanti regional Vetting Committee chaired by the regional minister following his interest to serve another four years in office as mayor.
So far, six people have filed for the position of KMA Chief Executive. The candidates include the incumbent mayor, Director of Urban roads Nana Atta Poku Agyemang, Samuel Pyne, Ashanti regional Secretary of NPP, Kennedy Kankam former Nhyeaso MP, Randy Collins Owusu Amankwa, former MP Manhyia North, Kwabena Mensah and outspoken for Kusi Boafo, former director of public sector reforms.
Currently, majority of NPP supporters in the region are advocating for Samuel Pyne to be given the job as a reward for commitment to the party at national and regional levels.
Others also believe the son of Nana Okumkom Akwasi Agyemang will do a better job.
