The Leader of the Kristo Asafo Mission, Israel Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena, has stated that all efforts to reconcile with his sister, former Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo, have proven unsuccessful amidst a family dispute following the passing of their father, the late Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka.
In a media interview, Akofena expressed that he has explored every possible means to restore their relationship, including reaching out to notable figures as well as religious and traditional leaders.
“I have made every effort to reconcile with my sister. I spoke to some former Presidents, chiefs, church elders, and traditional leaders, but all those attempts failed. I even drove to her house myself in an effort to seek reconciliation, but nothing came of it,” he remarked.
His remarks arise amid escalating disagreements regarding the funeral arrangements for the late founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission.
The church has recently asserted that it has not been notified of any funeral or burial plans for Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, emphasizing that no date has been established for his final rites.
Conversely, Sarah Adwoa Safo has refuted claims that the burial arrangements are still in dispute, asserting that the funeral will begin on Thursday, July 30, with additional rites scheduled for the following days.
In an interview, the Public Relations Officer of the Kristo Asafo Mission, Akwasi Ofori, affirmed the church’s support for its leader, Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena I, who had previously indicated that disagreements regarding the funeral arrangements remain unresolved and that no burial date has been confirmed.
The contrasting views have underscored the widening divide within the family concerning the burial plans for the late Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, the founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission and Kantanka Group.
