Evangelist Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, commonly referred to as Nana Agradaa, has announced her intention to return the funds she received from Sammy Gyamfi, the Acting CEO of the Ghana Gold Board, in light of public outcry and increasing demands for his suspension.
In a widely shared video, Gyamfi is shown presenting what seems to be U.S. dollars to the contentious evangelist—an act that has provoked criticism, especially from members of the Minority in Parliament, who have labeled the gesture as improper and are urging for his prompt suspension.
In a live Instagram video addressing the ongoing controversy, Nana Agradaa announced her intention to return the funds, even promising to double the amount. ‘I will return the $800 and additionally provide another $800. I will make every effort to locate his office, and I will visit with my camera to demonstrate to Ghanaians that I have returned the money,’ she declared.
The former fetish priestess, now an evangelist, voiced her concern that her actions could adversely affect Gyamfi’s career, stating that her conscience would not allow such a consequence. ‘This is my mantle, my Bible, and my anointing oil, as a prominent woman of God, and I assert that I will ignite my church if I am the cause of Sammy losing his job. The Bible instructs us to do good to all, without discrimination.
Therefore, if Sammy Gyamfi chooses to give me money, he is entitled to do so,’ she remarked. In related news, on May 12, 2025, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Minister responsible for Government Communications, accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of engaging in opportunistic politics by advocating for Gyamfi’s suspension.
During an interview on Eyewitness News with Umaru Sanda Amadu, Mr. Kwakye Ofosu characterized the NPP’s response as politically driven, casting doubt on their integrity regarding public accountability. He stated, ‘When the NPP engages in this matter, it is evident that they are merely engaging in opportunistic politics.
They do not adhere to the principles they claim to uphold. An examination of their actions and demeanor while in government reveals that this is a party lacking in respect for modesty and decency in public service.’
