The Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has reiterated the government’s steadfast dedication to preserving the stability of the Ghana cedi and protecting the progress made in recent months.
During the launch of the 60th anniversary of the Ghana Cedi in Accra on Tuesday, October 28, Dr. Forson assured the public that the government will “stay the course” in executing prudent fiscal and monetary policies to ensure the ongoing strength of the local currency.
“I would like to take this opportunity to affirm that the government of Ghana is committed, and we will stay the course to guarantee that the Ghana cedi remains stable and that the progress we are witnessing is sustained,” Dr. Forson remarked.
The Finance Minister also urged citizens to contribute to the support of the national currency, highlighting the shared responsibility necessary to maintain economic stability.
“As citizens, we also have a role to fulfill. We must uphold the integrity of the cedi as legal tender by treating it with respect and safeguarding it diligently,” he concluded.
