The government has reaffirmed its dedication to fostering a supportive environment for automotive firms like Zonda Tec Ghana Limited to succeed in the local market.
To strengthen economic relationships and attract foreign direct investment, the government is also seeking to encourage further Chinese investment in the nation’s automotive industry.
Elizabeth Ofosu-Agyare, the Minister for Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry, emphasized the government’s commitment to bolstering the automotive sector as a vital contributor to job creation and industrial growth during a media interview following her visit to Zonda Tec Ghana Limited’s facilities in Tema.
She stated, ‘The auto policy currently does not encompass the large trucks produced by Zonda, so we are in the process of revising the auto policy to include their products.
These adjustments will incentivize increased production. I will be traveling to China, as directed by His Excellency, alongside them and other Chinese enterprises. Our goal is to attract more investors to the automotive sector and other areas of the economy.
I am pleased with what I have observed and encourage Ghanaians to support these products.’ Additionally, Yang Yang, the Managing Director of Zonda Tec Ghana Limited, expressed the company’s intention to expand its operations in Ghana, noting, ‘We are benefiting from the auto policy by assembling pickups and SUVs.
We operate three factories and have eight branches, employing over 500 staff.
Ghana presents a very favorable environment. I often say that Ghana is like a blank canvas, shaped by the energy you bring to it. With positive energy, you will create a positive outcome.’
