The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has denied media allegations that it incurred losses exceeding GH¢3 billion during its inaugural year of operations, labeling these assertions as “false” and “deliberately fabricated.”
This statement follows a report by Accra Asaase Radio, which claimed that GoldBod was facing substantial financial losses.
In a statement released on Monday, November 17, 2025, the board maintained that the report lacks foundation and undermines its role in revitalizing Ghana’s economy.
“The publication in question is completely false and intentionally crafted to diminish the achievements and important contributions of the GoldBod,” the statement indicated.
The board further asserted that, contrary to the allegations, it has been generating “significant surpluses and profits” since its inception. It also mentioned that forthcoming quarterly financial statements—set to be published on its official website—will validate its robust performance.
GoldBod has urged the public to dismiss the report, requesting that Asaase Radio retract the article and issue a full apology for what it termed a misleading and unethical publication.
