Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has responded positively to the most recent inflation statistics, characterizing the ongoing decrease as clear evidence of the economy’s stabilization.
Inflation decreased to 6.3 percent in November 2025, marking the lowest rate since the 2021 rebasing and representing the eleventh consecutive month of decline.
Dr. Forson stated that these figures confirm that significant reforms are yielding results.
He expressed particular pleasure regarding the improvement in food prices.
“I am particularly pleased with the significant reduction in food inflation, which fell from 9.5 percent in October to 6.6 percent in November,” he remarked, adding that this change will provide relief to households across the nation.
The Minister underscored that the benefits extend beyond just food inflation.
“And it is not limited to food. Price pressures are diminishing across all sectors,” he stated.
As per the latest data, local inflation has decreased from 8.0 percent to 6.8 percent, while imported inflation has dropped even more rapidly from 7.8 percent to 5.0 percent.
Dr. Forson characterized this trend as a strong indication of recovery. “This is tangible, measurable progress!” he declared.
Analysts suggest that the persistent decline in inflation could foster further economic stability and enhance conditions for both businesses and consumers as the recovery continues.
