President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his dedication to revitalizing Ghana’s agricultural sector through the recently introduced Feed Ghana Programme, which he characterized as a national imperative.
During the initiative’s official launch in Techiman on Saturday, April 12, President Mahama highlighted that the programme will be driven by research, inclusivity, and environmentally conscious practices.
“All efforts will be based on research, adapted to our climatic conditions, and will actively involve the participation of youth and women,” he stated.
He underscored that the Feed Ghana Programme transcends mere government policy; it embodies a holistic approach aimed at fostering national development and enhancing the livelihoods of citizens through sustainable agricultural practices.
“Nana Chairman, Nananom, to conclude, the Feed Ghana Programme is not merely a policy. It is a call to action. The challenges we face are significant, yet they are surmountable,” Mr. Mahama asserted.
He called for a united effort, urging all stakeholders—including farmers, agribusinesses, financial institutions, development partners, and the general public—to collaborate in realizing this vision.
“With a shared purpose and commitment, we can transform agriculture into a catalyst for national growth and collective prosperity,” he remarked.
