Energy and Green Transition Minister John Jinapor has tasked the newly inaugurated Board of the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation with taking bold and intentional actions to attract significant investments throughout the country’s energy value chain.
During the inauguration ceremony, the Minister highlighted that the Petroleum Hub project is pivotal to the government’s goal of establishing Ghana as a fully integrated energy and petroleum services hub for West Africa.
He encouraged the Board to seek strategic partnerships and private investments that will foster growth in essential sectors such as petroleum storage, refining, transportation, and vital supporting infrastructure.
Mr. Jinapor remarked that Ghana already functions, in many ways, as an energy hub for the sub-region—exporting electricity and petroleum products to neighboring countries. He pointed out that operationalizing the PHDC will further reinforce the country’s strategic position and create new economic opportunities.
The newly inaugurated Board is led by George Blay-Morkeh, with Dr. Toni Aubynn acting as CEO. Other members include David Ampofo, Francis Tettey-Sackey, Patrick Ofori, Abednego Akuteck, and Dr. Mizpah Ama Dziedzorm Rockson.
The Ministry is optimistic that the combined expertise of the Board will guide the Corporation in fulfilling its mandate and promoting Ghana’s energy transformation agenda.
