The Electoral Commission has declared its intention to conduct regular media briefings on Election Day, December 7th, 2024, to keep the public updated on the electoral proceedings.
These briefings are designed to provide timely information and promote transparency throughout the election process.
The initial media briefing is set for 9:00 am on December 7, 2024, followed by additional briefings at 12:00 noon, 3:00 pm, and 6:00 pm.
Starting at 9:00 pm, the Commission will hold further briefings as election results are reported from various regions. Each session will be limited to a duration of 30 minutes.
Accredited media personnel are invited to cover these briefings at the National Collation Centre.
Additionally, the briefings will allow the Commission to address any news stories and reports emerging from across the country.
Samuel Tettey, Deputy EC Chairman for Operations, communicated this information in a statement released on Thursday, December 5.
He encouraged both the media and the public to confirm any election-related information with the Commission to prevent the dissemination of unverified news.
He also emphasized the Commission’s dedication to conducting fair, transparent, credible, and peaceful elections, expressing eagerness to collaborate with the media to ensure the electoral process is accessible to the public.
