President John Dramani Mahama has issued a strict ultimatum to all government officials who have yet to comply with asset declaration regulations, warning that they will face dismissal if they do not adhere to the final deadline of May 7, 2025.
This directive is part of ongoing efforts to promote transparency and accountability within his administration, following a previous deadline of March 31 that some officials failed to meet.
During the launch of the Code of Conduct for government appointees in Accra on May 5, Mahama underscored the gravity of the situation, stating that no individual would be exempt from the repercussions of non-compliance.
He asserted, ‘If by the end of the day on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, any of you still fails to declare your assets, consider yourself automatically dismissed, as I will not compromise when it comes to safeguarding the integrity of this government.’
Additionally, Mahama announced financial penalties for those who did not comply, mandating that individuals who missed the March deadline forfeit three months’ salary and make a one-month compulsory contribution to the MahamaCares Fund.
