The Chief Executive Officer of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC), Samantha Cohen CVO OBE, engaged in discussions with the Chief Executive Officer of the Millennium Development Authority (MiDA), Alexander Kofi-Mensah Mould, to explore strategies for enhancing private sector investment in Ghana’s agricultural sector.
The meeting, which also included the Head of Mission of CWEIC in Ghana, John Apea, concentrated on pinpointing opportunities to elevate agricultural productivity, encourage value addition, and foster agribusiness development.
Mr. Mould emphasized MiDA’s mission to stimulate inclusive economic growth through focused investment initiatives, pointing out that collaborations with international investment organizations like CWEIC could facilitate the mobilization of resources to support Ghana’s developmental goals.
Madam Cohen reiterated CWEIC’s dedication to promoting investment across Commonwealth nations and expressed a keen interest in bolstering Ghana’s agricultural economy through sustainable and impactful investments.
The discussions concluded with both parties reaching an agreement to investigate practical measures to enhance collaboration in mutually beneficial areas, particularly in agriculture, indicating a promising increase in private-sector involvement in Ghana’s agri-economy.
