The Government of Ghana has praised the authorities of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for their generous support extended to all Ghanaian victims.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, who expressed this commendation, stated that all Ghanaians in the UAE affected by the Middle East crisis are recovering well.
He emphasized that the Government of Ghana is dedicated to ensuring that all victims receive appropriate compensation.
He mentioned that he has been monitoring the welfare of Ghanaians in the UAE during his working visit.
“I am truly pleased to have met Philip Degbevi (first frame) and to witness his full recovery after he sustained injuries from a missile attack at Dubai Airport.
“I am also happy to report that all three Ghanaians who were injured in the UAE due to the recent Middle East conflict are recovering satisfactorily. The Government of Ghana appreciates the support provided by the UAE authorities to all Ghanaian victims.”
He further stated, “We are committed to ensuring that all victims are properly compensated. The Mahama Administration is resolute in extending consular assistance and empathy to the victims and all Ghanaians residing in the Gulf countries during this time of increased hostilities.”
He also engaged with the leadership of the Ghanaian community, assuring them of their Government’s unwavering solidarity during these challenging times.
“There are approximately 60,000 Ghanaians living in the UAE, representing diverse backgrounds including pilots, engineers, teachers, business executives, domestic workers, and hospitality professionals.
“I commend our Ambassador and the Consul General for the excellent work they are doing.
