President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has full trust in Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has been hailed as a competent and prepared leader, poised to lead Ghana toward a brighter future.
The president strongly encouraged the people of Ghana to rally behind Dr. Bawumia is focusing on running for the presidency, emphasizing his wealth of experience and strong vision to drive the country’s progress.
President Akufo-Addo highlighted the important contribution of the Ashanti Region to the electoral success of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) during his speech at a professional bodies meeting in Kumasi on Sunday, November 24.
He warned against making the same mistake that led to the NPP losing power in 2008 and called on the region to support Dr. Bawumia is working diligently to secure victory in the 2024 elections.
Two individuals are competing in the race. One a failed president and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is a Ghanaian politician and economist who currently serves as the Vice President of Ghana. Four other individuals in Ghana have been granted the blessing of the Almighty and the backing of the Ghanaian people to serve as presidents.
I am honored to have served alongside distinguished leaders such as Jerry John Rawlings, John Agyekum Kufuor, and John Dramani Mahama. Jerry John Rawlings, John Agyekum Kufuor, and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo all served second terms in office.
John Dramani Mahama was the only one who did not receive a second term, as he was perceived to have performed poorly.
