The Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Dr. Clement Apaak, has expressed serious concerns regarding purported vote-buying practices attributed to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) within the constituency.
Dr. Apaak alleges that the NPP is providing financial incentives to voters in an attempt to manipulate their decisions during the current elections.
He has called upon the Electoral Commission (EC) and other relevant authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into these claims, labeling the situation as a significant threat to the principles of free and fair elections.
“We have received and are currently looking into reports indicating that the NPP is utilizing monetary means to sway voters. Individuals are reportedly positioned in residences, concealed in various locations, attempting to incentivize voters. Should our investigations validate these claims, such actions must be unequivocally condemned,”
The MP reaffirmed his dedication to maintaining a transparent democratic process in Builsa South, free from any improper influences.
He urged for increased vigilance and rigorous enforcement of electoral regulations to protect the integrity of the electoral process.
The NPP has not yet provided a response to these allegations.
