The Ga East Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Elizabeth Kaakie Mann has said the assembly in the next year, 2024 will focus on improving general sanitation, educational facilities for quality education and the general security in the municipality, create jobs for the people especially for the youth and women, improve revenue mobilization and customer service standards as well as promote participatory preparation of medium- term development plan for 2022 to 2025.

The Ga East Municipal Chief Executive said this when the Assembly held its second town hall meeting Thursday, 7th September 2023 at the Mount Zion Methodist Society Church at Dome Born Again.

According to the Municipal Chief executive (MCE), Madam Elizabeth Kaakie Mann, the meeting was to take stock of the activities and projects undertaken by the Assembly for the year 2023.

She called for the active involvement of all persons living in communities under her jurisdiction, in discussions relating to the development of the Municipality.

The Town Hall Meeting’s concept gives them platform to render accounts of their stewardship of the resources entrusted into their care and for the community, the people at the grassroots, to contribute to the deliberations towards the development of the locality in particular and the nation at large.

She said, this will facilitate the deepening of democracy and increase citizen-participation in governance in line with the Section 40 of the Local Governance Act of 2016, (Act 936).

She said their constant engagement with the Municipal Assembly would bring forth important ideas, decisions, and pinpoint the actual needs of their communities to be addressed.

She also donated 200 street lights to selected residents’ association who in their engagement with the Assembly requested for street lights to reduce robbery and criminal activities in their communities. Madam Kaakie pledged to supply the resident’s association with more bulbs to help fight crime and criminal activities within the municipality.

She said the developments being expected in the Municipality would only be achieved through unity in purpose and advised the people to remain united and not to entertain any form of violence from any person or group.
