WE DON’T RESPECT WHAT WE HAVE – MOHAMMED POLO

Coaches play a vital role in the success and progress of clubs and national teams. Here in Ghana , local coaches have a legacy of their own in the achievements and laurels they won for the country but that cannot be said as today with the introduction of white coaches in the game.

In an interview with former player and coach of Accra Hearts of Oak , Mohammed Polo , believes that working with a local coach is the way forward and stressed on the fact that we don’t respect what we have. He said , “We have seen what is happening since the arrival of white coaches in the country. It looks very clear that no one is superior than the other. We don’t have respect for our own. It’s very worrying.”

A WHITE COACH IS NOT SO SPECIAL – MOHAMMED POLO
Former Accra Hearts of Oak coach and Black Stars forward , Mohammed Polo says that a white coach is not so special compared to a local coach.

In an interview on vision 1 sports show the former skipper said , _” It’s very painful. We are all in this country. What makes a white coach so special? We’ve had numerous white coaches in this country but I can’t identity a special one. I haven’t seen anyone yet. The likes of coach Addy have come and gone. Coach Afrane , Sam Dodoo have all won the nation’s cup for us. If they don’t believe in our own , then I don’t understand.

A white coach can come and not perform well and yet still he will receive his salary and leave. We don’t cherish our own. I would like to be corrected  whether a white coach has won something for the country. “
