New Life Orphanage gets help from Mawuena Foundation

The Mawuena foundation, A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) based in Ghana have donated items worth GHS 30,000 in support of the New Life Orphanage at Nungua. The items include bags of rice, cartons of tomato paste, gallons of oil, toilet rolls,
Bibles among others.

The donation was made through the Chief Executive Officers of the NGO Rev Cephas Mawuenam Awudzi. The kind gesture brought to the fore, the conditions of the orphanage and its occupants, hence prompting the donation by the NGO. The founder of the orphanage, Nii Afotey Bochwey II, who received the donation, said:

“I was motivated to start this because of the ordeal I went through, so, I was inspired to help others. If someone told me that a car stocked with items will be parked here like this, I would have denied it because sometimes it is even hard to feed the children”.

“Our main challenge now is Covid-19 because philanthropist, Organisations and Good people in society are no longer coming to the aid of the orphans we have here in the home.

Nii Afotey Bochwey II, further called on other corporate organisations to also follow the footsteps of the Mawuena foundation.
