The Bank of Ghana has refuted claims suggesting that it is contemplating the sale of its newly constructed $260 million headquarters.
The Bank of Ghana firmly asserts that this information is inaccurate.
In a statement released on Tuesday, June 2, it was clarified that the Bank is neither considering, discussing, nor planning the sale of its new headquarters.
According to the statement, the facility, which was inaugurated to bolster the Bank’s operations and improve efficiency in fulfilling its statutory responsibilities, is regarded as a vital asset of the Bank.
“We encourage the public and the media to disregard this report. Unverified claims of this nature can potentially erode public trust in Ghana’s financial sector,” stated the BoG.
“The Bank of Ghana is dedicated to transparency and will persist in engaging with stakeholders through its official communication channels.
“All official announcements from the Bank are disseminated via the Bank’s website: bog.gov.gh, verified social media accounts, press releases from the Communications Department, and signed statements from the Secretary of the Bank.
“The media is advised to seek clarification from the Bank prior to publishing any information related to its operations,” the statement concluded.
