President John Dramani Mahama has emphasized the need for enhanced investment and collaboration within Africa’s energy sector following the inauguration of the LPG vessel MT Asharami Ghana in the Republic of Korea.
During his remarks after the commissioning ceremony on Thursday, March 12, President Mahama characterized the vessel as a significant step forward in bolstering the energy supply and enhancing access to clean energy throughout Ghana and the broader West African region.
He noted that the project exemplifies the essential role of international partnerships in promoting infrastructure development and ensuring a dependable energy supply for emerging economies across the African continent.
“The inauguration of this vessel highlights the lasting importance of international cooperation. It showcases the strength of partnerships between Africa and our global allies, partnerships founded on mutual respect, shared prosperity, and a collective commitment to sustainable development,” stated John Dramani Mahama.
Additionally, he called upon governments, investors, and industry stakeholders to continue their efforts in fostering the growth of clean energy and facilitating inclusive economic development across the continent.
“Let the LPG vessel MT Asharami Ghana serve as a beacon of progress, one that motivates further investment, innovation, and collaboration throughout Africa’s energy value chain,” he concluded.
