The Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG) has officially declared the cessation of arrangements for the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage effective immediately.
In a statement dated February 18, 2026, the Office confirmed that all operational procedures leading to this year’s Hajj, including payments, documentation, and submissions, have been successfully finalized.
According to the statement, only those prospective pilgrims who submitted their passports along with all necessary documents within the designated timeframe were eligible for the visa process.
The Office emphasized that visa processing could not begin without complete adherence to documentation requirements.
PAOG noted that medical screenings have been successfully conducted in selected regions and centers throughout the country.
However, screenings for the Ashanti and Greater Accra Regions are planned for February 22 and February 28, respectively.
Prospective pilgrims under special arrangements (Protocol) have been urged to submit their passports promptly to finalize the process. They are also required to undergo medical screening either in Kumasi or at the Hajj Village in Accra.
