The Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has contributed GH₵100,000 to the Education Fund of the Ga Mantse, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, aimed at enhancing the academic growth of children and youth within the Ga State.
The Education Fund is anticipated to offer scholarships, educational materials, and various forms of academic assistance to students from disadvantaged backgrounds in the Greater Accra Region.
This donation was presented during a courtesy visit to the Ga Traditional Council on Monday, January 26, 2026, as part of the minister’s efforts to engage with traditional leaders to fortify collaborations in promoting education nationwide.
While addressing attendees at the event, Haruna Iddrisu emphasized that prioritizing investment in education is crucial for the government, highlighting that access to quality educational opportunities is vital for the nation’s progress.
He remarked that traditional institutions are instrumental in rallying communities and endorsing policies designed to enhance literacy, school enrollment, and skills development, particularly at the grassroots level.
“This contribution is part of our extensive initiative to ensure that no child is overlooked,” the minister stated, noting that community-driven projects like the Ga Mantse’s Education Fund complement governmental efforts to broaden educational access.
In reply, the Ga Mantse, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, conveyed his appreciation to the minister for the generous donation. He assured the ongoing support of the Ga Traditional Council for government initiatives and future projects.
