The Vice President, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has commended innovators and entrepreneurs for their resilience and their significant contributions to the industrial growth of Ghana.
During her address at the 14th Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) Awards held in Accra, she recognized the various challenges confronting the industry but assured that the government is dedicated to collaborating closely with businesses to establish a more robust and competitive industrial foundation.
“We are fostering an environment that creates new opportunities and enhances capacity for sustainable growth,” she stated.
She underscored the government’s strategic initiatives, such as the 24-Hour Economy and the Feed Ghana Programme, which are designed to increase agricultural productivity, bolster food security, and encourage value addition.
“Feed Ghana is improving agricultural output to enhance food security and provide raw materials for our local processing sectors.”
Professor Opoku-Agyemang stressed that the industrial sector will continue to be a vital component of national development, with an emphasis on enhancing productivity, competitiveness, and job creation.
“Alleviating the challenges faced by our industries is central to our comprehensive strategy. The government is prepared to collaborate closely with you to establish a resilient and competitive industrial base,” she asserted.
The Vice President extended her congratulations to all award recipients and nominees, praising them for their contributions to national development.
“Every business that is making quiet yet steady progress is contributing to the construction of a nation founded on industrial strength. Your efforts are significant, and Ghana is relying on you.”
