The Aboatia Family of Mpobi has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, characterizing her as a brave daughter whose life’s endeavors elevated generations and advocated for the rights of women and children.
The tribute was presented on Friday, November 28, during a solemn farewell ceremony at Independence Square, where family members, dignitaries, and mourners convened to commemorate her memory.
In their statement, the family commended Nana Konadu for shattering barriers and elevating the family’s name “to places of honour both at home and across the globe,” highlighting how her public life embodied the biblical call to advocate for the voiceless and protect the rights of the impoverished and vulnerable.
According to the Aboatia Family, Nana Konadu’s commitment to the empowerment of women and children served as a “living testimony” to this mission. “In her strength we saw purpose; in her compassion we saw hope,” the tribute remarked, encapsulating the significant influence she had on society.
The family further stated that although she is no longer visible to them, the legacy she established continues to impact lives and motivate many. They referred to her as their “role model, their Yaa Asantewaa,” and expressed their pride in the path she forged for all who will follow.
