Ho, the capital of the Volta region, is set to host the 2025 National Farmers Day, as announced by Mr. Eric Opoku, the Minister of Food and Agriculture.
He stated that this year’s celebration of Farmers’ Day, which is scheduled for Friday, December 5, 2025, will also acknowledge and reward churches that are actively involved in agriculture, aiming to inspire others to follow suit.
Mr. Opoku consequently encouraged churches to take advantage of the government’s initiatives and participate in farming to address food shortages in the nation.
He remarked: “We aspire for every church to possess a farm and to contribute to resolving national food shortages,” urging Ghanaians to also take advantage of the Feed Ghana program to engage in agricultural activities.
Mr. Opoku offered this counsel while addressing a dedication service for the Apostles’ Continuation Church International (ACCI) in Sunyani, under the theme: “Except the Lord Build the House.”
The Reverend Rexford Kwame Owusu, who oversees the ACCI, constructed and dedicated the “Apostle Clement Brakatu church auditorium” in tribute to Apostle Clement Brakatu, the Chairman of the ACCI.
Mr. Opoku indicated that with the launch of the Feed Ghana program, the government anticipates that every Ghanaian will actively participate in backyard gardening to enhance household food security.
He further stated, “If all citizens engage in farming, there will be an abundance of food in the country. If we raise locally-bred poultry, there will be no necessity to import chicken.
