The Interior Minister, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, has rejected assertions that the recruitment process for internal security agencies has been completed, labeling the reports as inaccurate and misleading.
During a press conference on Friday, November 14, the Minister emphasized that the current recruitment initiative is still open, competitive, and strictly based on merit. He affirmed that no candidates have been preselected, contrary to the rumors circulating in the public sphere.
Mr. Muntaka highlighted the Ministry’s dedication to conducting a transparent process that maintains fairness and integrity, warning the public about individuals who may attempt to sell recruitment positions, stating that such individuals will face arrest and prosecution.
He stated that recruitment is not for sale, and the Ministry has not employed any intermediaries or agents to facilitate entry into the security services. He encouraged potential applicants to refrain from engaging with anyone who claims to have the ability to influence the process.
“We will ensure that all applicants are treated with dignity and respect, and that the process is conducted fairly and impartially,” he assured, urging the public to promptly report any suspicious activities or individuals attempting to extort money under the guise of recruitment.
