The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), in partnership with Africa Sponsors, has officially unveiled plans for FESTAC Tourism Festival 2025—a vibrant celebration of African culture, trade, and travel. Set to take place from September 21 to 27, 2025, the festival aims to spotlight Africa’s rich cultural heritage, boost tourism, and encourage stronger trade ties between African countries.
At the launch event, Mr. Yinka Ahioye, Chairman of FESTAC Africa 2025, highlighted the festival’s goal of bringing African nations closer together through shared culture and economic collaboration. He stressed the importance of “unity in diversity”, urging Africans to embrace their unique identities as a powerful tool for driving long-term development.
Mr. Ahioye also shared that this year’s festival will include a dynamic mix of events—from cultural exhibitions and live music to art, fashion, and business forums—designed to foster deeper connections between people and businesses across the continent.
Speaking on behalf of the CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Deputy CEO Mr. Abeku Santana reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to becoming a cultural hub for the continent. He noted that GTA sees FESTAC 2025 as a key opportunity to showcase Ghana’s rich cultural traditions and attract global attention. “From September 21st to 27th, Ghana will take center stage in celebrating African unity and heritage,” he said.
Organizers anticipate a strong turnout, with participants and visitors expected from across Africa and the global African diaspora for a week of shared celebration, creativity, and collaboration.
