Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has returned to Ghana after receiving comprehensive medical treatment in the United Kingdom.
Her return signifies the conclusion of her medical leave, during which she pursued additional care in the UK after an initial consultation at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC).
President John Dramani Mahama, while on his Thank You Tour in Dodowa last Friday, May 16, expressed his relief and gratitude regarding the Vice President’s recovery.
“I am pleased to announce that I spoke with her yesterday morning, and she will be back in the country before the end of next week. By God’s grace, she is fully recovered and will resume her duties,” he stated.
In the meantime, the Vice President’s health status raised public concern, with some speculating about her potential passing.
Nevertheless, government officials, including spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu, confirmed she is in good health.
