This year, Ghana’s First Lady, Lordina Mahama, commemorated Mother’s Day with a meaningful visit to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, where she engaged with new and expectant mothers.
She expressed that the occasion was particularly significant as it evoked fond memories of her own experiences in motherhood.
During her address to the mothers, Mrs. Mahama urged those in labor to remain resilient and to focus on the joy that follows childbirth.
She highlighted that motherhood encompasses more than just giving birth, emphasizing the love, sleepless nights, and strength that characterize the journey.
As part of the celebration, the First Lady distributed gift packages to the mothers and graciously covered the medical expenses for all infants born that day.
Additionally, Mrs. Mahama interacted with healthcare professionals, recognizing both the challenges and rewards associated with motherhood.
“Motherhood is truly a beautiful experience,” she remarked, sending heartfelt wishes to all individuals who fulfill a maternal role in society.
