The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced its complete readiness for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Presidential Primary, which is set to take place on Saturday, January 31.
The Commission has assured stakeholders that all logistical and administrative preparations are progressing as planned to facilitate a seamless and credible election.
In an interview, Fred Tetteh, the Deputy Director of Research at the EC, indicated that the distribution of election materials to the various voting centres is scheduled to commence on Tuesday, January 27.
He mentioned that essential preparatory tasks, such as the printing of ballot papers, have been successfully finalized under stringent supervision.
“Preparations are significantly advanced regarding the printing of the ballot papers, conducted in the presence of representatives from the aspirants. That process has been completed,” Mr Tetteh stated.
He emphasised that the EC has assumed full responsibility for the ballot papers following their printing, and noted that the voter album for delegates has also been received.
“As of now, the EC has taken complete custody of the ballot papers from the printing facility. We have also obtained the voter album for the delegates, and we anticipate that by Tuesday at the latest, all materials will be sent to the 16 regional capitals for further distribution to the constituency centres,” he added.
