Tullow Ghana, along with its partners, has announced a scheduled maintenance shutdown of the Jubilee Oil Field, which will last for 16 days and commence on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.
The purpose of this maintenance initiative is to improve production efficiency, upgrade essential operations, and reduce operational risks within the offshore field.
During this period, significant repairs and enhancements will be performed on the Kwame Nkrumah FPSO (Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading) vessel. Key tasks will involve retooling critical equipment, performing leak tests, and upgrading facilities to increase gas export capacity.
This announcement follows the successful completion of a 4D seismic survey by Tullow Ghana on both the Jubilee and TEN fields, aimed at identifying future drilling opportunities and ensuring long-term resource sustainability.
To alleviate the impact of the shutdown on Ghana’s energy supply, Tullow Ghana has made arrangements with the government to temporarily source gas from the TEN fields throughout the maintenance period. This agreement is anticipated to maintain a steady gas supply for power producers and industrial consumers.
Furthermore, this shutdown is part of a larger strategy to prolong the operational lifespan of the FPSO and serves as a precursor to a mini-drilling campaign planned for May 2025.
