The case concerning former Minister of Finance Ken Ofori-Atta and seven other individuals in the ongoing investigation related to the Strategic Mobilisation Limited (SML) revenue assurance contract with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has been postponed to a future date.
The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) announced this postponement in a Facebook update on Monday, November 24, 2025, indicating that the court would not convene on the initially planned date.
As per the OSP, the High Court will inform both the Republic and the accused parties of a new date.
On Tuesday, November 18, 2025, the OSP lodged 78 charges against Mr Ofori-Atta and the seven other accused individuals regarding their purported involvement in the contentious GRA–SML revenue assurance contracts.
The charges encompass breaches of Section 23(1) of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29) and Section 92(2)(b) of the Public Procurement Act, 2003 (Act 663).
A segment of the lawsuit, submitted to the Criminal Division of the High Court in Accra under case number CR/0106/2026, states:
“Conspiracy to commit the criminal offence of directly or indirectly influencing the procurement process to gain an unfair advantage in the awarding of a procurement contract, in violation of section 23(1) of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29), and section 92(2)(b) of the Public Procurement Act, 2003 (Act 663).”
Those anticipated to be prosecuted include former GRA Commissioners-General Dr Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah and Emmanuel Kofi Nti; senior GRA officials Isaac Crentsil and Kwadwo Damoa; Ernest Akore, former Technical Advisor at the Ministry of Finance; Evans Adusei, owner of SML; and the company itself.
