The Manhyia Palace has advised the public to disregard reports linking it to the funeral of the highlife musician Charles Kwadwo Fosu, also known as Daddy Lumba.
In a statement on Thursday, December 11, 2025, the Palace emphasized it is not involved in the late artist’s funeral preparations.
Additionally, it urged Ghanaians to depend solely on accurate and verified information to prevent the spread of misinformation.
This clarification comes in response to circulating reports that suggest the Palace is involved in the arrangements for the musician’s burial—claims that officials have categorically rejected as false and misleading.
This situation arises amidst an ongoing dispute between Daddy Lumba’s immediate family and extended relatives regarding the appropriate date for his burial.
The family of the late icon has already dismissed a widely reported funeral date of December 13, 2025, labeling it as unauthorized.
The Manhyia administration cautioned that media reports linking the Palace to this issue could lead to confusion and misunderstanding.
It therefore urged the public to ignore such claims and refrain from disseminating unverified information that could heighten tensions surrounding the musician’s funeral arrangements.
