The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, on the 14th of January 2026, elevated seventeen Police Officers, which includes two(2) Senior Officers, to their subsequent ranks in acknowledgment of their exemplary behavior, professionalism, and dedication to their duties.
These promotions were awarded in recognition of the officers’ exceptional performance in fulfilling their responsibilities, especially their dedication to operational excellence, discipline, and service to the nation.
This initiative is part of the Service’s wider strategy to encourage personnel who exhibit remarkable commitment and integrity in their duties. IGP Yohuno, along with members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), extended congratulations to the promoted officers and urged them to regard this advancement as a call to increased responsibility, leadership, and accountability.
They also motivated all personnel within the Service to persist in maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, loyalty, and public service. The Ghana Police Service reiterated its dedication to acknowledging merit and rewarding excellence as a strategy to bolster morale and improve effective policing throughout the nation.
