A significant number of Ghanaians are of the opinion that the nation is progressing positively, as indicated by a recent national tracking poll published by Global InfoAnalytics, reflecting ongoing public trust in the governance of President John Dramani Mahama.
The survey, carried out from December 1 to December 21, 2025, reveals that 66% of voters feel Ghana is advancing in the right direction, in contrast to 24% who believe it is moving in the wrong direction. Approximately 10% of those surveyed did not express an opinion. The results suggest that voters across all 16 regions are united in their belief that the country is on the correct path.
Regarding presidential performance, the research indicates that President Mahama’s job approval rating has remained steady at 67% since the last quarter, while disapproval has slightly increased to 24%. Approval ratings for the President are consistent across all regions, including those areas traditionally viewed as strongholds of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Nonetheless, significant partisan divides remain. While 93% of supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) endorse the President’s performance, only 28% of NPP supporters hold a similar view, with 61% of NPP voters expressing disapproval. Among independent voters, 69% approve of the President’s job performance.
The poll, named National Tracking Poll: Governance and Performance – Part One, was unveiled on December 29, 2025, by Mussa K. Dankwah, Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics. It was conducted through a combination of web, telephone, and face-to-face interviews, encompassing 13,495 respondents across 83 constituencies, achieving a confidence level of 99% and a margin of error of ±1.1%.
