Ghana and Saudi Arabia Strengthen Security Ties After Ministerial Meeting
Riyadh, Sept. 23 – Ghana and Saudi Arabia have agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation in the area of security following a high-level meeting between their interior ministers in Riyadh.
Ghana’s Interior Minister, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, met with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, to discuss strengthening ties in areas such as public safety, internal security, and counter-terrorism. The talks were described as “constructive,” with both countries expressing interest in building strategic partnerships to tackle shared security challenges.
Although no formal agreement was announced, officials say the discussions touched on possible collaboration in intelligence sharing, training for law enforcement, and border control measures. The meeting comes as both nations seek to respond to rising global threats, including terrorism, organized crime, and cyber insecurity.
This diplomatic engagement reflects a growing effort by Saudi Arabia to deepen ties with African nations, while Ghana continues to seek international partnerships to boost its internal security infrastructure.
