The Inspector-General of Police has sent reinforcements to Sampa, Bono Region, after there were violent chieftaincy agitations in the town on 10th September 2025 that led to one death and injured some persons.
A statement released by the Police stated that they have since re-established peace, beefed up security and deployed intensified patrols in Sampa and neighborhoods.
The Minister for the Interior Muntaka Mubarak, on the recommendation of the Bono Regional Security Council and by Executive Instrument, recently extended the curfew timings for Sampa Township in Jaman North District from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am daily effective Thursday, September 4, 2025.
The government summoned the Chiefs, Opinion Leaders, Youth and People of the region to remain calm in the wake of the problems that they were facing and to employ non-violent methods of addressing their grievances towards ensuring peace in the region.

Conversely, all individuals in Sampa Township in the Jaman North District of the Bono Region are totally prohibited from the carrying of arms, ammunition, or any offensive weapon. Anyone who is discovered with any arms or ammunition will be arrested and brought before a court.
