Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, the Founder and General Overseer of Action Chapel International, has urged President John Dramani Mahama to spearhead a courageous transformation agenda aimed at fortifying the economy and uniting the nation under a definitive, long-term development vision.
During the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving, which took place on Tuesday, July 1, at the State House in Accra, the esteemed clergyman implored President Mahama to seize his second opportunity in leadership to create a lasting impact.
“Mr. President, within three years, make a difference. Impact this world and change the narrative of Ghana. Let the Cedi thrive under your leadership. Let the Cedi flourish under your leadership and let things improve continuously under your leadership like never before,” he proclaimed, eliciting enthusiastic applause from the audience.
Archbishop Duncan-Williams further emphasized the importance of cultivating a values-based national identity rooted in patriotism and faith.
“We need to foster a profound love for God. Additionally, we must love our country and cherish Ghana,” he remarked, cautioning against political divisions that hinder national advancement.
He advocated for the urgent formulation of a comprehensive national agenda, akin to the long-term development strategies seen in nations such as China, India, and Dubai, which, as he noted, possess 100-year national visions that surpass political cycles.
“Ghana, our motherland, is where our vision and agenda reside. Under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, a national agenda will be instituted to ensure that all stakeholders adhere to that agenda,” he concluded.
The National Day of Prayer convened political leaders, clergy, and civil society organizations to pray for peace, unity, and guidance for the nation, centered around the theme of thanksgiving and hope.
