The Ghana Police Service has apprehended multiple individuals wearing brown uniforms and impersonating security personnel in proximity to the Awoshie DVLA polling station located in the Ablekuma North Constituency.
As reported by sources from Citi News, these individuals failed to adequately identify themselves when interrogated and were subsequently transported to the Odorkor Police Station for further inquiry.
The suspects were discovered stationed at the entrance of the polling center. Their failure to present valid identification raised concerns among the officers assigned to maintain security during the ongoing parliamentary election re-run.
In a statement to Citi News, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ga West and Dean of MMDCEs in the Greater Accra Region, John Desmond Nii Sowah Nai, verified the arrests and suggested that the police suspect these individuals may not be authentic members of any recognized state security agency.
Investigations are presently in progress to ascertain the identities and intentions of the suspects.
