In a statement released on December 10, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken commended the Electoral Commission of Ghana for its dedication to facilitating a free and transparent electoral process.

On December 9, the Electoral Commission officially announced Mahama as the victor of the 2024 presidential election.
He received 6,328,397 votes, which accounted for 56.55% of the valid votes cast, surpassing his nearest competitor, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who obtained 4,657,304 votes, or 41.61%.
