The First Lady, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo, has called upon voters to exercise their right to vote peacefully on December 7 and to await the announcement of the results with patience.
During her visit to the constituents of Trobu and Okaikwei North in the Greater Accra Region, part of her campaign and appreciation tour, she urged all Ghanaians to refrain from engaging in any disputes during the electoral process, emphasizing the importance of casting their votes in a tranquil manner.
“Go and cast your ballot peacefully and let Ghana progress to greater heights,” she stated.
Mrs. Akufo-Addo reassured the public that Election Day would proceed without incident, noting that law enforcement and security personnel would be present to guarantee a smooth and peaceful voting experience, alleviating any fears of potential disturbances for those participating in the elections.
As she bid farewell to the constituents, alongside her husband, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, who will be leaving office on January 7, she took the opportunity to solicit support for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as well as for all NPP parliamentary candidates in the upcoming 2024 general elections.
In her discussions with party supporters, Mrs. Akufo-Addo highlighted the significance of continuity in national development and urged voters to maintain the NPP in power to further the developmental initiatives that have been established over the years for the benefit of all citizens.
“President Akufo-Addo made numerous commitments to you during his campaign, and he has fulfilled nearly all of them. However, Ghana deserves even more, and the only individual capable of continuing this positive trajectory is Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia,” she asserted.
The First Lady praised Dr. Bawumia for his intelligence and exceptional skills, which are essential for the nation’s development. She stated, “Dr. Bawumia possesses a deep understanding of digitalization and technology, both of which are crucial in addressing contemporary challenges. If elected, he has numerous innovative ideas to contribute to Ghana’s progress.”
While encouraging supporters to disseminate positive information to bolster Dr. Bawumia’s electoral success, Mrs. Akufo-Addo also urged them to vote for the NPP parliamentary candidates: Madam Gloria Owusu from the Trobu Constituency and Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei from Okaikoi North Constituency, to secure their respective positions.
Madam Owusu called upon all eligible voters in the Trobu Constituency to cast their votes in large numbers for the NPP to ensure a decisive victory. “We must avoid a scenario where the NDC disputes the election results. Let us vote in overwhelming numbers to create a significant margin that leaves no room for contestation. Vote number 1 for both Dr. Bawumia and Gloria, and encourage your friends, family, and loved ones to do the same,” she urged.
In addition, Mrs. Asiamah-Adjei motivated her constituents to participate actively in the voting process on Saturday, assuring them of their safety and security throughout the day.
