He eventually ran a successful campaign in 2016, highlighting his priorities of economic reform, anti-corruption measures, and national progress.
His win against the incumbent John Dramani Mahama led him to the presidency, fulfilling a long-held aspiration driven by his dedication to serving the public. In the year 2020, he saw his re-election victory as a powerful confirmation of his leadership skills.
