The Ghana Police Service has refuted allegations made in a viral video about a secret recruitment exercise at the Kumasi Police Training School in the Ashanti Region.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, the police explained that the people at the training school were part of a special operation, not a recruitment drive.
On Tuesday, September 3, 2024, 487 people were arrested in connection with the QNET Ponzi scheme during an operation conducted in Kumasi.
Due to the enormous number of suspects, the Kumasi Police Training School was used as a screening facility as part of the investigation.
The police further stated that during the screening, some members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) appeared at the school, claiming to have heard of a secret recruitment exercise taking place.
“Upon realizing the claim was false and there was no such recruitment going on, they dispersed,” the post added.
The Ghana Police Service has urged the public to disregard the claims of a secret recruitment exercise and to treat them with the contempt they deserve.
