The aspiring assembly member for Pokuase Abensu electoral area in the Ga North Municipality has appealed to the Department of Feeder Roads to re-gravel the road from Pokuase to Abensu and its surrounding communities which had become deplorable.
Mr. Smart Nana Kusi who is seeking election as an assemblyman for the Abensu electoral area made the appeal when the people of the area complained to him on the spate of the road during his house-to-house campaign at Abensu and other surrounding communities.
The constituents said the perennial rainfall had prevented drivers from plying the road.
Mr. Smart Nana Kusi made a passionate call to the feeder roads department to act swiftly to assist the farmers and traders who have their goods locked up due to the bad nature of the road.
The aspiring assembly member, Mr. Smart Nana Kusi also appealed to the Ga North Municipal Assembly and the Government to come to the aid of his electoral area by constructing a befitting health facility, ultra-modern Market place and a police station to enable residents easily access health care services among others.
The electorate told Hon. Mr. Smart Nana Kusi the community had serious issues with healthcare, especially with pregnant women and children who had to be carried on improvised structures and walk for many hours to receive treatment in times of emergencies while water and places of convenience were a luxury for the people.
They added that the electoral area is densely populated but lack health facilities to attend to the health needs of residents.
He called on the Ga North Municipal Assembly and the Member of Parliament for the area who is also the Deputy Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development (MoFAD), Hon. Moses Anim to urgently come to the aid of the people.
In his house-to-house campaign, Mr. Kusi called on the electorate to give him their mandate in the upcoming assembly and unit committee level elections, adding that is main concern would be the transformation of the area through infrastructure development.
The aspiring assembly member for Pokuase Abensu electoral area, Hon. Smart Nana Kusi further expressed appreciation to the Member of Parliament for Trobu Constituency, Hon. Moses Anim and the Ga North MCE, Hon. Simons Sekyim for their immense support and unprecedented developmental projects within the Ga North Municipality but called an extension to cover the Abensu electoral area.
