A team of female communicators for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Tuesday morning visited the National Radiotherapy, Oncology and Nuclear Medicine Centre at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital as part of the breast cancer awareness month (Pink October).

The team presented an amount of GH¢25,000 to pay for the hospital bills of eight (8) patients undergoing radiotherapy at the Centre. We also donated a quantity of toiletries, detergents and hand sanitizers; and served the staff and patients in the facility with hot meals.

Let’s always remember that breast cancer is the most common cancer type in females around the world. Breast cancer awareness is therefore imperative, as early detection, often through screening, can help detect the cancer at a stage when it is easier to treat. It is therefore of essence that women especially, resort to routine checks, early testing and detection.

Join the Campaign today so we can together educate and encourage early testing to save lives.
